Here at SC Statehouse Blog, we strive to make sure the views of any particular legislator or government officer are successfully and accurately conveyed to our readers. We achieve this through personal interviews and allowing the interviewee to preview any article before it is published.

Now, many other news sources use press releases from legislators and government officers to write stories and even include quotes from the release in their article. However, sometimes these articles don’t include the whole press release for the public to read. We at SC Statehouse Blog feel that this is unfortunate because it doesn’t allow the public to go to the original document from which the story was written.

Therefore, we have decided that we will begin to post press releases we receive on SC Statehouse Blog VERBATIM in order for the public to know exactly what their elected officials wanted to say. In order to differentiate these post from actual interviews conducted by our bloggers, the title will begin with “PRESS RELEASE” and be posted by “admin” in the “Press Release” category.
