PRESS RELEASE: Rep. Anton Gunn to Host Legislative Issue Forums

Forums will focus on Jobs, Education Funding and 2010 Legislative Session

State Representative Anton Gunn (Richland and Kershaw Co.) will host a series of public forums throughout his district next week. This is the second series of legislative forums designed to create an open dialogue with the public regarding the issues that they are facing the state of South Carolina.

 The forums will be held Monday, December 14th, Wednesday, December 16th & Thursday, December 17th at six o’clock (the locations are listed below). The forums will focus on ideas for creating job opportunities in South Carolina, funding for public education and a recap of the Extended Legislative Session, along with a preview of the potential issues for the 2010 Legislative Session.

 Who: Rep. Anton Gunn and the People of Kershaw and Richland Counties

What: Legislative Issue Forums

Where:             Blaney Elementary School (Monday, December 14th)

                        Bridge Creek Elementary School (Wednesday, December 16th)

                        North Springs Elementary School (Thursday, December 17st)

 When: Each event will last an hour from 6pm to 7pm

    I think it is great that this legislator is actually making himself accessible to his constituents on a regular basis. Most of them only are visible during session or sometimes not even then. In the wake of everything bad for SC, this guy might be what we need. I’ll have to look up more about him though.
