Medal of Honor Recipient Says Rice is the Congressman Veterans Need

EASLEY, SC – Major General James E. Livingston, USMC Ret. endorsed Rex Rice for Congress, it was announced today.

The Medal of Honor recipient and South Carolina resident served thirty-three years in active duty prior to his retirement from the Marine Corps in 1995.

“Our troops, veterans and their families need a Congressman cognizant of the sacrifice military families make for their country. Rex Rice is that Congressman. He is a Marine’s son who understands that sacrifice and will do everything possible to support our troops and our veterans in these very serious times,” Livingston stated.

“I am proud to endorse Rex Rice for Congress and I know he will make us proud and help keep us safe. Rex Rice is a man of honor, character, and integrity who will be leader within the halls of Congress on social, economic and national security fronts,” continued Livingston.

General Livingston is a Medal of Honor recipient who did three tours of combat duty in the Vietnam War and was awarded three Purple Hearts, the Navy Distinguished Service Medal, the Silver Star, the Superior Service Medal and the Bronze Star with Combat “V.”

“It is an honor to have General Livingston’s support. He is a true American Hero who has given so much to our nation,” Rice stated.

“We live in an age of terrorism in which rogue nations are attempting to build nuclear weapons. As Congressman, I will fight to support our military and to keep the solemn promises we have made to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much for our nation,” Rice continued.

“We owe our troops and our veterans a debt of gratitude that we can never fully repay. These men and women keep us safe and fight for freedom on a daily basis. The least we can do is to keep our promises to them and fully support our veterans and the men and women who currently fight for freedom,” Rice concluded.
