Can you tell me who (Senator, Representative or whomever is the most involved in disabled folks problems? I’d like to write a personanl letter to him/her and tell him what my concern it. Specifically it is the blatant abuse of H.P. placards by inconsiderate people who are not disabled, but use other family or friends cards. I’ve been told the police can’t ask anyone what their disability is and there’s no picture on the placard so they don’t know if it is being used fraudulently or not. Pleas help. Thanks. Jake

Dear Sirs, Bless you for trying to help us legitimate handicap people. I live in Goose Creek and go to Walmart quite often. If you were to stand in their doorway any day for just 15 minutes you’d see inconsiderates using H.P. spaces, jumping out of their cars and running into the store. Makes my blood boil as it does yours as well. G.C.P.D. has a sub-station right there and one day I asked a police officer what could be done about it. He told me I’d have to contact the Legislature. He can’t just go over to someone and ask what their disability is for it’s not politically correct. What has happened to our country? The story on your web-site about the young Mexican girl eating her lunch in a H>P. spot and being questioned by you with the threat of calling the Police then her swearing at you or whoever it was and threatening to ‘get him’ is outrageous. Why can’t police ask her for her green card? Please tell me what/who in the authority that I write to. If it was in my power these folks would be flogged on the spot. Most respectfully, Dave Jacobson Retired USN Seabee
